The adventure is over. Hanne has returned to viking country and is finally reunited with her long missed Stine, so their correspondence ends here. But first a short summary of what happened the last few months:
Hanne realised that she’s a nerd and nailed her finals at the university. At approximately the same time, summer finally came to Montreal, so she spent her last time in the city biking around, reading books in the park, and studying French grammar on the balcony. She made a couple of more trips to the US, this time even to the ”real” America (you know, where people get drunk while firing guns and stuff like that), and to the big country surrounding Québec, known as ”the Rest of Canada”. It’s a mysterious country that looks a lot like the US, speaks the same language as the US, but uses Québécois money. Weird.
After a ridiculously long summer holiday, she loaded up her suitcases with maple syrup candy, ice skates and hockey sticks (but no amazing Canadian men), and returned to her home country to reunite with friends and family. So now she sits in her old room, works on her exam project, and spends a LOT of hours talking to a webcam, as she couldn’t fit the Yankee into her suitcase...
In Denmark, Stine has been a busy little bee. She hitch-hiked around Europe for a week to take pictures of truck drivers with disposable cameras, which her professor loved. To her joy, the guy with the beard turned out to have more attractive qualities than just a talent for making soups, one of them being the endurance to stay with a girl who’s stressed over her final exam project at the Danish School of Journalism (a test that is just beginning now for the Yankee). And all the work paid off in the end; Stine graduated with the top grade, got head-hunted for a job in a flashy advertising agency, and moved in with the soup guy. All within a week.
As if the universe thought things were going a little too well for Stine, she failed her first driving test. Technically because she drove down a bike lane. But let’s just blame the universe.
Will Hanne pass her exam or will she spend all her time on Skype in stead of working? Will Stine learn to stay on the road? Sorry, but we're leaving the answers blowing in the wind. The epic tale of Arnold and Spedtsberg has come to an end. For now, at least...
